Minimal Incision Total Hip Replacement

Minimal Incision THA Animation

A much smaller incision is used — only 3.5 to 5 inches* as opposed to the 10 to 12 inches used with conventional total hip replacement—but the same reliable implants are used. This minimizes postoperative pain, recovery time, and scarring.

*Incision size is influenced by a patient's weight, bone size, and severity of arthritis.
